What spring break?

Well it wasn't much of a "Spring Break" for me last week.

Really not one at all.

I had spring cleaning, a paper due, an exam, and extra homework (that still isn't done), plus a 600 page book I was supposed to read (also didn't do).

On top of that, the weather here has just been miserable.

Ya, that's what the roads were like this morning! And it's almost April! You feel bad for me I just know it.

So when the weather is crappy, and my procrastination is on high alert, what do we do with our time you ask? Puzzles.

Adam and Wyatt really get into it.

I helped them figure out the edging, but they did the rest.

Notice Wyatt's concentration. He is just so cute, I love this boy!

They were so excited, they wouldn't even let me take it apart because they wanted Dad to see it when he got home from work (5 hours later). They can be so easily entertained and love doing stuff like this, which makes my life a whole lot easier.

He better be an Artist when he grows up!

The past few weeks, Wyatt has decided to show us his artistic side. Which is great! However, he tends to use "unconventional" methods to express his creativity.

Art Project #1

Materials needed: Brand New Laptop cover, permanent marker Art Project #2

Materials Needed: Dining table/chairs, Kitchen cabinets and floor, Trash Can, Dark Purple Nail Polish and Permanent marker

He even tries to incorporate fruit into his recent projects.
We have since had to place all "artistic devices" in places where Wyatt can't get to them. All I have to say about all this is, he better be an artist when he grows up!

Annual Cabin Trip!

Every year we take a trip to our best friends family cabin with our group of friends. Lindsey and Josh, Scott and Bree, and of course US! (We make the party happen!)

We've never been up in the winter before so it was fun to see Alpine, Wyoming that way. Bummer for Ben though because while the guys were snowmobiling, sledding, and doing stupid dives off the deck into snow piles, Ben had to just watch because of his shoulder. He did plenty of cheering on though.

Josh coming down off the hill on the side of the cabin.

Scott taking his turn...and yes that's an awesome pic I know!

Can you guess what Josh is about to do here?

Yeah, it's not that hard to guess. This was his first jump off the deck, but not the last!

Here we are! Freezing for the quick pic, but Ben stayed outside watching the guys do stupid stuff for a while. Can't say I wasn't glad Ben was injured for this trip to the cabin. I'd rather he encourage than participate! But the poor guy was so bored :(

The gang! One of the many times we sat down to play games over the weekend. We played: Phase 10 twist, Uno Flash, Scattagories, Hand and Foot (Which I was informed is very similar to Canasta). So much fun!

Probably one of the guys favorite parts of the weekend...playing Gears of War II until 3am. Don't worry I was asleep!

We had such a fun time and can't wait to do it again next fall. Hopefully sometime in August! We really do have the best group of friends. Thanks for the fun weekend guys! Love you all!

Homemade goodness!

Ben came up with the great idea of making homemade pizzas with the boys, I was a little skeptical at first, I get nervous about he boys making huge messes. But I figured they would have a great time configuring their own dinner, so Ben and I prepared everything, then let the kiddos loose!
Here are the boys with all the fixins! Pizza sauce, cheese, onions, pepperoni, sausage, and dough!

Adam was very precise with his cheese placement, this wasn't surprising to me at all. He is a bit of a perfectionist (probably gets that from me!)

Wyatt didn't care as much, I actually had to take some cheese off because he just took huge mounts of it and piled it on, I don't think 15 minutes in the oven would have even melted that much cheese!
Ben got in on the action too! We did one large pizza and each made half of it the way we wanted!

In the oven they went for 13 minutes! They smelled sooo good!
All the hard work paid off, it was so yummy!

Wyatt enjoyed his pizza too. The crust was amazing, thank you Pillsbury!

Doesn't that just look yummy! I'm so glad Ben thought of this, we will be doing it more often for sure. In fact, I am craving it now after writing this post and looking at these mouth watering pictures!
