Quarter of a century!

Well yesterday marked the day, the day that I turned a quarter of a century old. It wasn't as monumental as I had hoped it would be. It was actually kind of a crappy day. Ben had to work late, the boys were grumpy all day, which in turn so was I.
We did have plans to go to Redfish Lake camping for about 5 days and we were going to leave tomorrow and come back on Wednesday. I have always wanted to take the kids there since I spent so much time over the years as a kid there. Well on a fluke I decided to check my schooling stuff and make sure it was all in order to start classes on July 5th. Good thing I checked because my classes actually start June 27th. Totally stomping all over our plans for camping :(

But to every raincloud there is a silver lining, even if I have to look REALLY hard for it! Ben has some family coming into town from Georgia and we will be having a big family BBQ at his cousins house on Sunday. It will be really nice to see everyone, it's been a really long time!

This summer has been an adventure to say the least, and with the milestone of hitting 25 over and done with, on to the next adventure. School, then Seattle to visit some good friends, then the cabin in Alpine for 5 days with Ben's brother's families and his Mom and her husband Mitch. Gonna be a fun summer. Hopefully nothing else gets canceled!

Sawtooth Relay!

Last weekend Ben and some of his coworkers ran in the Sawtooth Relay! The relay was from Stanley to Ketchum, so a total of 62 miles! It was broken up into 12 legs, with 6 people per team. Ben's team ran the relay in just under 9.5 hours! They did so awesome, even beating their own goal of 10 hours! Most people that ran were in teams, however there were a few people that in SOLO! They are crazy for sure. One guy ran the 62 miles and averaged 8 minute miles.

I don't have any pictures of him running the relay because I haven't been able to get them from his teammates yet, but once I do I will post them! I am so proud of Ben and his team, they did an amazing job! Even if Ben is still walking around like he's got a saddle between his legs :) he's just a little sore! This is a photo taken the day after his relay on our way home from Sun Valley. We took the long way home, I wanted Ben to be able to see Redfish Lake where I basically spent a ton of my summers growing up. Then we went on to Stanley and out through Mackay on home. This was taken at an old dam that is not working any more. Basically the only picture I took all weekend with the camera :(

Hold onto your seats...it's a bit bumpy!

And by bumpy I mean busy...

And by seats I mean sanity...

Holy cow I feel like summer has hit me full force this week, and I'm definitely NOT talking about the weather. Although my backside is a bright shade of pink at the moment from our 30 minutes of sunshine the other day. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating, it was more like 35 minutes :)

My "real" summer classes started this week, and my other summer class finishes up this week. So some big projects have been started (almost finished).

Both the boys are starting baseball this week and next. Wyatt is playing his first year of t-ball. Which should be interesting since he is terrified of the ball!

Adam didn't want to do t-ball again this year so he signed up for coach pitch through the YMCA. He is really excited. Unfortunately they haven't found a coach for his team yet, so hopefully they find one soon or else they wont be able to play this year :(

Ben has a really busy weekend ahead of him. We will be heading to Sun Valley, ID (Beautiful) for Ben to participate in a 62 mile relay with 5 of his co-workers! It's called the Sawtooth Relay, and between the 6 runners there are 12 legs of the relay, each runner having to run 2 legs each, but not consecutively.
Isn't that just the most beautiful view! If I had any interest in running (which I DON'T), this would be the place to do it! He is going to be so great and for his first race EVER I am so excited that I can be there to support him.

We were going to take the boys with us, but my parents decided they wanted to take them camping to West Yellowstone for the weekend. They will have so much fun with that while Ben and I get to have a fun weekend in beautiful Sun Valley.

Now hopefully I can get through the rest of the summer of craziness without losing my sanity!
Enjoy your weekend!
